GAME PREVIEW: Prince George Spruce Kings vs. Vernon Vipers (Game #33)

Tonight, at the Rolling Mix Concrete Arena, the Prince George Spruce Kings return home for a pair of games, beginning tonight against the Vernon Vipers at 7:00 PM. Tonight marks the third Spruce Kings decade night, as the Spruce Kings honor the 1990’s decade. The Spruce Kings are coming off a 2-1 victory on Sunday in Trail against the Smoke Eaters. Austin Fraser and Luc Laylin supplied the goal scoring, while Aaron Trotter got his 12th win of the season, making 21 saves. Colton Cameron also collected a pair of assists and earned first star honours.

 Veteran Vipers forward Cam MacDonald has been the top go getter in points for the Vipers thus far in 2021-22. The Dartmouth College commit has posted 24 points in 21 games played, which includes seven points in his last four games. The Surrey, BC product was a major catalyst in their win over Salmon Arm a week ago, where he compiled four points, including the overtime winner.

 Spruce Kings forward and 20-year-old Luc Laylin has been no short of incredible offensively for Prince George since he has joined the club. In 16 games as a Spruce King, Laylin has registered 16 points, which includes six goals and ten assists. One of those goals came this past Sunday in Trail which led to being the game winning goal. Laylin is committed to play NCAA Division 1 Hockey next year at the University of St. Thomas with fellow teammate Aaron Trotter.
