Prince George Spruce Kings add former NHLer Brandon Manning to coaching staff

PRINCE GEORGE- The Prince George Spruce Kings are pleased to announce the addition of Brandon Manning to the coaching staff.

Manning will join the Spruce Kings as the new Skills and Development coach.

“Brandon is a proud Prince George resident and a proud Spruce Kings alumni,” said General Manager Mike Hawes. “Any time we can add someone to the organization with Brandon’s experience and character we are going to jump at it. Our athletes and coaches will benefit greatly from having him here.”

Manning played 58 games with the Spruce Kings during the 2007-08 season scoring seven goals and 19 assists. The Spruce Kings’ new skills and development coach also played in 255 NHL games, the majority with the Philadelphia Flyers.

“I’m excited to be a part of the Spruce Kings organization again,” said Manning. “They gave me a chance as a 17-year-old player in my first year of junior hockey … Now I can use the last 15 years of my hockey journey to help guide and teach players on what it takes to get to the next level.”
