Spruce Kings make multiple roster moves

PRINCE GEORGE- The Spruce Kings made multiple roster moves prior to Saturday’s deadline.

The Prince George Spruce Kings Are excited to announce the addition of Aidan Carolan (’05).

From Oshawa, Ontario, Carolan is joining the Spruce Kings after beginning the season with the Brockville Braves of the CCHL.

In 37 games played this season, the 18-year-old centre has recorded an impressive 14 goals and 16 assists.

“Aidan is a hard-working player whose attention to detail is excellent. He’s a player who will contribute in all areas of the game for us,” said General Manager Mike Hawes. “He has a good nose for the net but also understands the defensive side of the game. We’re excited to add him to our group.”

Carolan comes to the Spruce Kings standing at 5’11”, weighing 185lbs with a wicked right-handed shot.

The Prince George Spruce Kings are also excited to announce the addition of forward Vital Dinis (’06).

Dinis started the season with the Pembroke Lumber Kings of the CCHL. In 35 games with the Lumber Kings, the Ottawa, Ontario product recorded 31 points.

“Vital is a young player with a lot of size and skill,” said Hawes. “He thinks the game very well and is a tremendous addition to our group. We’re thrilled that this opportunity presented itself.”

Dinis, while bringing plenty of skill to the Spruce Kings, will also bring plenty of size to Prince George. The 18-year-old forward stands at 6’1″ and weighs 190 lbs.

“My goal at this roster deadline was to add two good young players to our roster while keeping the majority of the group intact,” said the General Manager of the Spruce Kings. “As a staff, we believe in this group and feel they can make some noise down the stretch and into the playoffs.”

In a corresponding move, defenseman Tristan Taylor (’04) has been moved to the Lone Star Brahmas of the North American Hockey League.
