PRINCE GEORGE – The Prince George Spruce Kings are excited to announce they will be a proud sponsor for the Team Epp MS Charity Golf Classic at the Aberdeen Glen Golf Course for MS Research on Saturday May 28th.
Epp, 26, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis on May 25, 2021, and has made tremendous strides since being diagnosed. The former Spruce King is back on the course, and back on the ice as an official in the BCHL. After a wild year for Epp, he is thrilled to be able to put on a golf tournament for a cause that is very important to him.
“I am super excited about this tournament. Once I was diagnosed, I became an advocate for MS,” says Epp. “I may not be able to find the cure myself, but by raising awareness around this disease, we can get a better understanding of it. Obviously, I hope there will be a cure in my lifetime, and the only way that will happen is with money going towards research.”
The Spruce Kings will be featured on the Hole 6 tee box, one of the par three hole’s on the course, and will include a ton of different games, contests, and prizes. Epp spent the majority of his BCHL career with the Spruce Kings and was named the fan favourite award winner in 2014-15. The former Spruce King is thrilled his former team is on board for a special event.
“The Spruce Kings are a great example of a great organization. My three plus years in the blue, red, and white, were some of the best years of my life,” added Epp. “They helped me grow to the man I am today, and now with them going above and beyond by helping me out with my fundraising goals and helping us find a cure, speaks volumes to the type of organization they are.”
The golf tournament again goes on Saturday May 28th at the Aberdeen Glen Golf Course, with National MS Day coming on the following day (May 29th).
The tournament style is a four-person scramble, and all skills are welcomed. There are still spots open to register your team and you can register HERE
